Even Springfield’s top dog is helping prepare for the wedding!

Sophie’s Throne
Sophie needs a place to sit during the ceremony, and last I heard Chiavari chairs aren’t exactly meant for dogs. Luckily, we found some great fabric for a custom quilt where she can rest her paws.
Website Design
Our wedding website has been covertly online for about a year and a half now with a basic default template. Now that the save-the-dates just went in the mail, it is time to make the website official! Over the past couple weeks, Lindsay has been hard at work designing our wedding logo. She recently finished the design, which was quickly followed by a website facelift. Enjoy the new look, and let us know what you think!
Planning is in full swing
Over the past year, our wedding planning has moved forward in bits and pieces. We had other distractions like our awesome trip to Alaska and the holidays. Now that spring is drawing near and the wedding is just over 6 months away, we are kicking the planning into high gear. Many of the larger decisions are out of the way (ceremony location, reception location, dress, limo, photographer, DJ, etc), so we are mostly turning to all the details that will bring the event together. Lately we have been trying to take photos along the way, so look for some of those soon!
Lindsay’s Dress is in!
As I hinted in the last post, Lindsay picked out and ordered a dress last weekend! After an amazingly (and unexpectedly) short time, the dress was delivered to the store near her hometown outside Philadelphia. We are about to head out the door to drive up to Philly to have her try it on. I won’t get to see it yet, of course, but cross your fingers that it fits! We’ll be taking it somewhere else when the wedding date gets a bit closer for alterations.
Things are getting exciting!
Our date selecting, location hunting, photographer choosing, and dress buying adventures have all made leaps forward over the past week! More on each decision soon, but it is looking like Saturday September 22nd, 2012 in Chesapeake City, MD is the date and place!
Location hunting
We are setting out for the Annapolis/bay area today to visit some potential places for the wedding and reception. We are focusing on a water/beach theme. Report back soon…
Dress Shopping and the Website
Lindsay and I are staying at her parents’ house this weekend. After the bridal shows we went to over the past couple weeks, she is getting excited about choosing a dress. She was initially scared at all the options out there, but after getting lots of help and support from my mom and her family, she seems to be more excited than scared of how good she can look. Too bad I can’t see her in a dress yet!
I have been staying out of the way of the dress browsing, so that has given me time to set up our wedding website. It seems you have found it, so that’s a good start! Lindsay and I make a great pair especially when combining her design talents with my web development experience. We hope to make this website a special place to share our experiences and keep everyone in touch with the wedding planning. Feel free to explore and comment often!
